The Information Systems program focuses on applying technology to solve business challenges. Graduates can pursue careers in various fields, including systems development, information systems, AI & robotics, IT management, communications, business support, and computer systems, along with teaching and applied research.

The information systems graduate receives solid academic training to develop business processes, implement ERP management systems, design business intelligence and big data applications, create innovative business and startup solutions, plan and lead IT projects in organizations, manage computer systems, develop and manage technological infrastructures, computer security and management of computer centers, integration of solutions for mobile applications, as well as; meet architecture and software design requirements using international quality models based on artificial intelligence, which allows professional practice in institutions and companies in different areas, both in the public and private sectors, as well as; in independent professional practice.

  1. Generate information systems solutions to respond to problems or needs in a business environment.
  2. Adequately work, with analytic and communicative capacity, to provide solutions which generate value for organizations.
  3. Perform a responsible professional activity, with ethic values, and adequately use available resources in organizations.
  4. Work in multidisciplinary teams, to develop information systems projects to contribute with the progress of our society.
  5. To be a professional committed with continuous learning for his/her personal development.


Student outcomes

Graduates of the program will have an ability to:
  1. Analyze a complex computing problem and to apply principles of computing and other relevant disciplines to identify solutions.
  2. Design, implement, and evaluate a computing-based solution to meet a given set of computing requirements in the context of the program’s discipline.
  3. Communicate effectively in a variety of professional contexts.
  4. Recognize professional responsibilities and make informed judgments in computing practice based on legal and ethical principles.
  5. Function effectively as a member or leader of a team engaged in activities appropriate to the program’s discipline.
